Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Let’s start by clarifying who exactly a “wedding day coordinator” is.

Let’s start by clarifying who exactly a “wedding day coordinator” is.

A wedding day coordinator is a wedding professional you hire for short-term support. She (sometimes he) is a dedicated expert who takes care of the actual wedding day—overseeing everything to make sure it runs smoothly and as planned.

Please don’t confuse this role with that of a full-service wedding planner or wedding agency. If you’ve hired a wedding planner to organize your entire wedding, then “wedding day coordination” is typically already included in the service. Your planner will naturally ensure that everything flows perfectly on the day itself.

What I’m talking about here is a standalone service for couples who have planned the entire wedding on their own.

As a bride who’s done all the planning yourself, you may now be asking:

  • When will the vendors arrive and who will communicate with them?
  • Who will receive the wedding cake?
  • Who will guide the guests and let them know where to go?
  • Who will organize the ceremony—seating, music, the aisle?
  • Who will ensure everything goes according to plan?
  • Will I even have time to enjoy the day with my guests?
  • …and many other questions.

Your first instinct might be: “I’ll just ask my bridesmaid or my best friend. She’ll handle it all!”

But wait—your best friend is there because you love her and want her close by. She’s meant to be your emotional support, not your logistics manager.

She can’t run from vendor 1 to vendor 4 to tell vendor 2 that something went wrong.

Even the best-planned weddings can face unexpected hiccups.

Who will step in if the flowers arrive at the wrong location, the best man forgets the rings, or the DJ is stuck in traffic?

You didn’t spend months (or even a year) planning every detail just to be stressed and disappointed on your big day because things didn’t go according to plan and you didn’t get to enjoy it.

Your goal should be simple: for YOU, your fiancé, and your guests to enjoy the day.

Many brides agree: having a coordinator by your side means one thing—you truly get to enjoy your wedding. Instead of checking the timeline and making calls, you focus on yourself, your partner, and your loved ones. In fact, it’s often an investment that saves time, nerves, and even money—an experienced coordinator can prevent costly mistakes before they happen.

A wedding day coordinator is not an unnecessary luxury.

She’s the key to a relaxed, well-orchestrated wedding day that everyone will remember with a smile.

If you want peace of mind, a smooth experience, and the chance to truly savor your day, then a coordinator is the right choice.

While my agency focuses primarily on full-service wedding planning, I personally take on 2–3 wedding day coordination clients per year—and my team members can accommodate up to five more.
So don’t wait too long to book—we fill up quickly!
